ABOUT

Sara Whitch Wich, alterego

Portugal

As Sara Meli Melo, I am a black and white photographer, deeply obsessed with lines and the human element. In my work, lines are more than just compositional guides; they are narratives, creating rhythm, depth, and a sense of direction within the frame. Whether under the harsh, contrasting light of a sunny day, where shadows carve dramatic lines and shapes, or beneath the soft, diffused light of a cloudy day, which allows for subtler tones and intricate textures to emerge, black and white photography amplifies these visual elements, stripping away distractions to reveal the core essence of a scene.

The inclusion of people in my compositions is also vital. They not only add a human touch to the narrative but also provide a crucial sense of scale to the image, allowing the viewer to grasp the grandeur of architectural lines or the vastness of an urban landscape.

Beyond this focused exploration of monochrome, I also express my photographic vision through my alter egos:

Sara Pais de Melo: The eclectic photographer whose work spans events, portraits, architecture, nature, animals, urban and rural landscapes, and personal projects. My visual signature is marked by a thoughtful, clean, and organized composition, where attention to detail is fundamental in capturing the essence of what captivates me. My portfolio features not only a diverse collection of photographs but also animated pictures that bring my creative vision to life.

Sara Which Witch: Where magic manifests in images that evoke the fantastic and the mystical, exploring creativity both in the studio and in outdoor environments.

Through Sara Meli Melo, I invite you to see the world anew, appreciating the profound impact that clean lines, compelling contrasts, and the human presence can create in the absence of color.
